Salvius (or any other well versed Italian speaking people!), I have a friend looking to get an Italian Mastiff and he wants to name it something with the definition of "protector" "strong" "powerful" "guardian", etc. We saw Xiomar off a website, and he's leaning towards that, but we don't know how to pronounce it. Any clue? He may be going back up to PA this weekend to get him, so he would like the name before that, if possible. Thanks to anyone that is actually able to help us

well, mastiff is a larger breed dog, and well for me when i see big dogs my first impulse is to feed them more. manja = eat in italian... i would name the dog manja. then again, when ur telling the dog to eat you would say manja manja and that would just confuse the poor thing. |

lol I laughed at the Manja one! Kumo, that's exactly how we thought it would be said, as well. But more with a zee sound. Guess we gotta wait on the official word from Sal! |

Technically, he's a Cane Corso Italiano (aka Italian mastiff). www.firehorsecanecorso.com is his friend and the guy J's buying the puppy from.
