Don't get Vista unless you have a machine that can handle it. Vista on a subpar machine will make you want to punch puppies.
And sadly, a budget of 1k probably won't make vista work

Do you still have your old machine (one prior to the one you are returning), If you do you can save on a case, posissibly on a cd/dvd drive, harddrive, sound card depending what you had. -Ifora- |
