That's a pretty good deal with a monitor/keyboard/mouse all bundled into it. I just spent around 1200 on the parts to build a AMD 4000+ geForce 7800 w/ Dual Core Mobo and new 550 Power Supply. It's a very nice price, but I cannot stand Dell. Period. |

That isnt bad but I would never buy an eletronic product without waiting for it to appear on www.slickdeals.net -- Dell is approaching the end of their next quarter which means they will start cutting prices a lot. My advice is to wait a few weeks and make sure to check slickdeals a couple times a day, because the really good ones will be out-of-stock within a few hours of being posted. |

If I may suggest, a little patience on your part would pay off. The upcoming release of Intel's Conroe CPU architecture will drive down the prices of CPUs around the board in the next few months. Not only that, but they will be an extremely viable choice for your system. I would also suggest a decent video card, something midrange, at this point. DirectX 10 will (hopefully) be out some time next year, at which point a new video card will be necessary for any new DX10 games. |
