So...I have about 8k ready to spend on advertising and some small feels (cell phone, gas, etc). I want to start some kind of consulting business. I've been running Linux since I've been 15 (i'm almsot 25 now). I have about 5 years as a unix/network sysadmin for an ISP. I'm fluent in perl, php/mysql, jsp, c/c++, and javascript.
Any suggestions?
I've got a lot of planning to do. I was thinking about the newspaper, yellowpages, and perhaps a marquee somewhere for advertising. I have to narrow down what I want to mainly do, but I can't narrow it too far. The hardest part is to get those first few clients so the most effective way of advertising can begin, 'word of mouth'. =]
Anyway....I needed to vent some...even though I didn't do much complaining. I basically just hate what I'm doing right now and I think the only way I'd be happier is to run my own business.
